Press Release

TTCF Joins Forces with Other Owners Groups to Lobby for 100LL Solution

The Twin Cessna Flyer has joined with other owners groups to urge industry organizations and engine manufacturers to get behind a 100 octane solution to the pending removal of 100LL from the market.

Turbocharged Twin Cessna’s will need a 100 octane solution to maintain their viability. Teledyne Continental has proposed a 94 octane replacement that would work fine for non-turbocharged 310’s, but would not work - or require restricted operating parameters - for the turbocharged models in the fleet. Lycoming has taken the more sensible position, in our opinion, insisting that only a 100 octane replacement is acceptable.

The Twin Cessna Flyer has joined The Clean 100 Octane Coalition. This group is also supported by:

• The Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association (COPA)
• The American Bonanza Society
• The Malibu and Mirage Owners and Pilots Association (MOPA)
• The Mooney Aircraft Pilots Association

See:
www.100octane.info  for more information.

As a TTCF member, you can add your voice. There is a link on the this site to sign up as a supporter as well as contact information for industry representatives you can write to to express your opinion.

The fuel situation is a complicated issue but as the aircraft owners affected, we need to have a hand in shaping the solution rather than having one forced on us due to our inaction.

TTCF will continue to support efforts for a cost-effective replacement for 100LL.
